The Quest for Panaceas

Recently I was advised by a colleague to check out the website of an healing modality that I had not previously heard of. "Hey Geoffrey... have you heard of this fellow? He seems to be talking about the same approach to health that you do." The website in question is not important but some of the underlying ideas that are implicit in the website are.

The approach to wellness that is being spoken of takes into account an individual's level of neurological integration and attempts to improve that neurological integration through their methodology. While I applaud the understanding that internal cohesion, harmony and integration of the nervous system are a critical contributing factor to health, I cannot speak for the efficacy of that system. It's not that I doubt the ability of that approach to enhance the above factors, I simply do not have first-hand experience of either the details of the method or of the practitioners of that method. To be sure, Siddatech's flower essences are not the only way to improve, restore, repair and strengthen the underlying electromagnetic fields of the nervous system. This world is filled with talented, insightful people who are using that talent and insight in profound and healing ways.

My main objection is to the language of the site that suggests that neurological integration alone (or lack thereof) is the source of health (or lack thereof.) Siddatech remedies contribute to one's health and well-being. They are not a cure-all, fix-all, magic remedy for every situation. For example, Sidda Digest resolves stress and tension throughout the abdominal cavity and gastrointestinal tract. The reduction and eventual elimination of stress from these areas contributes to one's health and well-being by allowing the body to respond to the stresses and demands that are placed on it to the best of its ability. Taking Sidda Digest and then consuming large quantities of fast food is not a particularly intelligent way to improve one's health and well-being. Sidda Digest will allow your body to respond the best it can to a bad situation. That does not somehow make the consumption of low-quality food acceptable to your body.

Panacea, (universal cure), thinking is rather prevalent in our society. It is the result of a linear train of thought where there is a desperate desire to have simple answers to simple questions. We call "bad health" a problem and by virtue of a simple phrase ("bad health") we then believe that a simple, one-size-fits-all solution can be found to solve this "problem." In truth, our "health" (a simple word used to mean the sum total of our biological processes) is a wonderfully complex, intricate and ever-shifting matrix of factors.

There are many exercises, practices, food choices, supplements, environmental considerations, and more that can all contribute to one's health and well-being. There are people who have improved their lives dramatically by exercise and people who have lost weight, detoxed and improved their energy by dieting. Some people have overcome health challenges through meditation, relaxation or prayer. There are still others who have moved away from high-voltage power lines, smog, and noise to become happier, healthier people. For individuals who have seen dramatic improvements in their quality of life, there sometimes arises a tendency to assume that they have discovered "the answer."

Exercise, dietary choices, environmental considerations or practices/techniques/remedies for psychological/emotional health are in and of themselves insufficient for holistic health. Our lives, health and well-being are multi-dimensional and each facet of our lives deserves our attention. This world we live in, however, is a fast-moving, stressful place and it can be difficult to find the time to address everything that is calling for our attention. Siddatech flower essences offer a convenient and easy way to address a part of our health and well-being that is often overlooked.

The idea of increasing neurological integration by removing stress is an important one, but it's really the beginning. As stress is reduced and the body gains more resources to restore its equilibrium, our minds tend to become more clear and we get better at making decisions that will support our health and happiness. Sidda Digest begins with resolving abdominal tension. In many cases what begins as an attempt to reduce digestive distress naturally and spontaneously transforms into healthier food choices and eating habits.
